Our Community Programs
Welcome to the East Cleveland Neighborhood Center, where we believe in building a stronger community through our diverse programs and services. This is a place where individuals of all ages can find support and resources to thrive.
21st Century After School Program
As a 2026-2027 21st Century Community Learning Center, the Caledonia and Kirk After School Programs offer Academic Enrichment, Civic Engagement, Leadership Development Training, Social Emotional Learning, and STEM/STEAM based learning through captivating lessons, collaborative activities, inspirational guest speakers, fun field trips, and family engagement. This program is open to East Cleveland City School
(ECCS) District students in grades 1 through 8 and is held on M-F at Caledonia Elementary School (grades 1-4) and on M-TH at Kirk Middle School (grades 5-8). Transportation home is provided.
ECNC enjoys being a community partner of the East Cleveland City School District on this program.
ECNC Spring and Winter Break Camp Programs
The ECNC Spring and Winter Break Camp Programs offer Academic Enrichment, Leadership Development Training, Social Emotional Learning, and Athletics, through captivating lessons, collaborative activities, inspirational guest speakers, and fun field trips. The program is open to ECCS District students and is held at the ECNC office (inside Chambers Community Empowerment Center) during Spring and Winter Breaks. This is fun opportunity for the students to stay engaged during school breaks!
This program is supported by the ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County.
You Matter Academy
You Matter Academy provides social-emotional learning (SEL) and prevention services to East Cleveland City Schools, Euclid City Schools, and North Shore High School. It utilizes age and gender-appropriate curriculums to support students in learning effective communication, coping, and drug refusal skills, among other needed and beneficial skills. We are open to requested lessons per various schools’ reported needs, i.e., increased bullying, topics needing addressing, etc.
This program is supported by the ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County.
SOAR
A multi-faceted mental health wellness program to address the behavioral and social emotional needs of students through expressive arts; engage parents and families in support groups and workshops; and provide staff with professional development and mindfulness strategies to lead/manage their classrooms and practice self-care. This is a meaningful and collaborative program between ECNC and the ECCS District.

Shaw After School Program
Shaw High School After School Program offers Academic Enrichment, Civic Engagement, Leadership Development Training, Career Exploration, through captivating lessons, collaborative activities, and inspirational guest speakers, and mock job interviews. The program is open to Shaw HS students (grades 9-12) and meets virtually once a week; and in-person for volunteer/career opportunities as planned with program staff.

Empowering the next generation through educational, recreational, and mentorship programs designed to inspire and support our youth.
Prevention
ECNC is committed to supporting students inside and outside of the classroom to make healthy choices and avoid drug and alcohol abuse.
East Cleveland Neighborhood Center (ECNC) addresses the needs of children and families by providing enrichment programs that promote resilience, social and emotional wellness, academic preparation skills, and parent engagement.
